Here's a list of cities we'll be visiting

Varanasi	http://varanasi.nic.in/	AKA, Banaras, Kashi... one, if not THE oldest living city on earth! City of light (better known as City of Death). hindus travel here to die, believing that they will escape the viscious cycle of death and rebirth (fat chance!)

Rishikesh	http://www.rishikesh.org/	The place that the Beatles visited in the 60's to meet maharishi maheesh Yogi - remember? I do. The entire city is vegeterian and there are hundreds of ashrams and Yoga schools. YES! ps. this place is on the Ganges river also.

Haridwar	http://haridwar.nic.in/	Fly back to Delhi and hop a train, Heading north towards the Himalayas

Kathmandu, Nepal	http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathmandu	We decided to book a flight - only 1 hour away - and visit Nepal. We'll see just what the hell Bob Seger's been singing about all this time.

Sarnath	http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/buddhistworld/sarnath.htm	Here's where Buddha (yes, THE Buddha) did his first gig. Smaller venue and tickets were so easy to get before he skyrocketed to fame.

Allahabad	http://allahabad.nic.in/	At the intersection of the Yamuna and Ganges rivers. 2 rivers coming together for hindus is holy. (Like the Merrimack and Spicket rivers in Lawrence?)

Fatehpur Sikri	http://whc.unesco.org/pg.cfm?cid=31&id_site=255	Abandoned city built by Akbar. Very intriguing from what I've read.

Mathura and Vrindavan	http://mathuravrindavan.com/	2 cities where krishna grew up, kind of like Lawrence and Methuen for me :)

Agra	http://agra.nic.in/def.asp	home to the Taj Mahal and reportedly thousands of "touts" or men who are trying to offer you some service for some $$

Delhi	http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delhi	This is where we fly into and settle in for 3-5 days
